Fundraising Event for:
Children of Hope Haiti
You are cordially invited to attend “The Children of Hope Gala 2018” hosted by Lakeshore Yacht Club in Etobicoke as a fundraising event for “Children of Hope Haiti” on Saturday, June 2th commencing at 5:00 PM.
The focus for this year’s gala is to raise funds toward our educational programs, which include the laptop and computer course initiative at the orphanage and in the surrounding communities as well as our new “Jeff Compas Scholarship Fund”.
The laptop donation program and computer classes help to give students access to computers, who may not otherwise be able to, and workshops to teach them basic computer skills with the goal of helping them to succeed in their education.
The scholarship fund was created in memory of Jeff Sterlin Compas, who grew up at the Children’s Home in Saintard and went on to pursue higher education. Jeff was completing his first year of university when he suddenly passed away January 2015. To honour his love of learning, the Fund will serve to financially assist young Haitians to pursue post-secondary education in Haiti at either the University or Professional school level. Two applicants have recently been selected to start this September 2018. We currently have a total of 5 students enrolled in the scholarship program and we look forward to adding more recipients, as funds allow, in the coming years!
The evening will include a (homemade) buffet dinner and silent auction. The tickets are $50.00 per person. We are also pleased to have Sharon Bacchus, playing the Steel Drums as our entertainment for the evening!

Children of Hope Haiti
Children of Hope Haiti (COHH) is committed to supporting Haitians so that they may raise the next generation of Haitian Leaders. We are a volunteer non-profit organization, dedicated to improving educational opportunities for children, youth and young adults through post-secondary scholarship programs, education funds and hands on computer training.
COHH works in partnership with Church of God Eastern Canada (COGEC), who provide all charitable tax receipts on our behalf.
